Sorry Grande Prairie… I owe everyone an apology.

This one’s on me.
Yesterday I confidently put the shovel from my truck into the shed…
and today we get 10 cm of snow.

I got overconfident. Alberta humbled me.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today we celebrate the strength, compassion, resilience, and leadership of women everywhere. The impact women have on our families, workplaces, and communities is truly immeasurable, and the world is better because of it.

I’m especially grateful for the incredible women in my own life including my wife Mayna and our daughters, who inspire me every day.

Today is also about recognizing and celebrating all women. The leaders, the mentors, the builders, the caregivers, the innovators, and the countless women who work hard every day to make their families, communities, and workplaces stronger. Just a reminder to help protect your home during these changes in temperature.

With the back-and-forth weather we get, it’s important to stay on top of your sump hose. During cold weather, make sure you take it off so it doesn’t freeze and block water from draining properly. A frozen hose can cause water to back up toward your foundation or even into your basement.

When the weather warms up again, don’t forget to put it back on so water can safely drain away from your home.

It’s a simple step, but staying ahead of the temperature swings can help prevent costly damage and keep your home protected.

We stopped by the Eastlink Centre today to check out the Family Day events, and it was awesome 👏

Huge thank you to the City of Grande Prairie and Horizon Co-op for putting this on. The free family swim, field house activities, and cookie decorating were such a hit!

Shout out as well to Design Works and the Eastlink Centre team for helping make it happen.

Thank you to Kevin O'Toole, Jena Flach (sorry I missed grabbing a photo with you, I got sidetracked chatting!), Dylan Bressey, Mike O’Connor, Wade Pilat, Chris Thiessen and all the staff and volunteers working behind the scenes or that I may have missed naming in this post. Taking time out of your own weekend to serve others doesn’t go unnoticed.

Weekly Market Update

As we move closer to spring, we’re continuing to see the market heat up. Buyer activity is increasing, inventory remains tight in many segments, and competitive situations are becoming more common. Well priced properties are moving quickly and demand is staying strong.

Groundhog Day gave us a bit of fun this week as Balzac Billy made his prediction. He saw his shadow, calling for six more weeks of winter. While winter may be hanging on a little longer, the real estate market clearly didn’t get the memo and continues to show strong momentum heading into spring.

In a market like this, having a Realtor who understands the current conditions and is actively watching what’s happening day to day is more important than ever. Pricing strategy, timing, and knowing how buyers are behaving can make a significant difference in the outcome of a transaction.
