~Update on Services~

Hey GP fam!
Im sorry to announce that we have to pause service for a little bit. Transportation issues have become complicated. Of course this is the worst time of year for us to not be able to offer our service. We are trying hard to get back to functioning. Return date is TBD.

🚗A little background: our beloved red donation-mobile was destroyed in a wee car accident back in July. We have a new one coming for early December. Very long wait. We were limping by with the use of my partners old Chevy truck. However this weekend weve encountered some engine issues that we are, as of yet, unsure are fixable. I am also a full time student with a very busy schedule.

👩‍🦽Another problem I am beginning to face is my health. I have a permanent disability. As the years have gone by its gotten worse. I am starting to really struggle picking up and carrying things. I will not be able to continue picking up and carrying bags of clothes on my own. I am going to get myself a little cart on wheels and see if that helps.

~

👩‍✈️That being said, I will be looking for opportunities to pass this project onto someone, or a group of someone's, who are passionate about keeping the momentum going and running this program into the future. I am disappointed I haven't gotten everything done with this project that I hoped but I am committed to not giving it up until I find someone wanting to take the helm.

🙏Thank you so much GP for your support. Weve done hundreds of pick ups since we started in 2024 and we are excited to keep getting textiles to the people who need them.

Do you have a couple of hours to spare Thursday night? The Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie are still in need of more teams to canvas the city as part of the food bank drive.

Teams of 3 to 4 people head out with a vehicle to go door-to-door collecting donations. As a thank you, snacks and a BBQ will be waiting for you when you return.
