Meet Rowan 👋🏼🏡

REALTOR®, DIY enthusiast, caffeine lover, chronic music listener, and quite possibly the most introverted extrovert you’ll ever meet.

I’ve been a REALTOR® for two years, but my connection to homes started long before that. I grew up right here in the Annapolis Valley with contractor parents who built and sold homes, so moving, building, renovating, and seeing the potential in a property were all pretty normal parts of growing up.

Fast forward to today—my fiancé also works in construction, and we’ve carried that love for a good project into our own home. Whether it’s building something, refinishing something old, or anything involving design and decorating, I’m usually in. 🔨

That background is probably why seeing the potential in properties is still one of my favourite parts of real estate. But what I love even more is getting to be part of some of the biggest milestones in my clients’ lives.

I especially enjoy those “what’s next?” moves—whether that means moving up, downsizing, building new, or finding a more rural property with a little extra land and room to breathe.

When it comes to work, I’m unapologetically Type A: organized, detail-oriented, and usually thinking a few steps ahead. My approach with clients is built around honesty, transparency, advocacy, and information. I want you to understand your options, feel comfortable asking questions, and ultimately feel confident in the decisions you make.

Off the clock? The Type B side comes out a little more. 😂 I love being outside—especially if there’s sunshine, water, or a good view—staying active, animals, sports, music, and spending time with family and friends. Annapolis Valley sunsets are one of my favourite things, and I firmly believe Halloween decorations are fair game as of September 1st. 🎃

2026 has brought some pretty exciting milestones of my own too. I got engaged, my fiancé and I made our own move-up purchase, and I’m continuing to grow Home Based Real Estate alongside my mom and best friend, Vanessa. We work together so closely that finishing each other’s sentences is basically part of the job description.

For me, home is somewhere you can make your own, close to the people you love, in a place you genuinely want to be.

And getting to help other people find their version of that is a pretty great job to have. 🤍

🏡 One of the questions I ask buyers that can completely change their Annapolis Valley home search:

How far are you actually comfortable driving?

Around here, an extra 10 or 15 minutes can sometimes make a big difference in the type of property you're looking at.

Maybe your priority is being close to Greenwood for work.

Maybe you want to walk to shops and amenities.

Or maybe you'd gladly drive a little farther if it meant having more land, privacy, a garage, workshop or room for animals.

This is why I don't love starting a buyer search with a long list of towns.

I would rather start with:

What do you want your everyday life to look like?

Once we know that, we can start narrowing down which parts of the Valley actually make sense for you.

Especially for buyers relocating to the Annapolis Valley, understanding the communities, commute times and differences between rural and in-town properties can make the search a whole lot more productive. 🍂🔑

🍂 Thinking you might sell next spring? You don't have to wait until spring to start preparing.

In fact, fall can be a really useful time to have that first conversation.

It gives you a few months to look at your home objectively and decide what is actually worth doing before it hits the market — without trying to tackle everything at once.

That might mean:
• decluttering a little at a time
• touching up paint or completing unfinished projects
• addressing small repairs you've been putting off
• starting to think about staging and presentation
• understanding what comparable homes are selling for
• making a plan for professional photos and marketing

And sometimes my advice is actually not to spend money on something a homeowner assumed they needed to change.

The goal isn't to make your home perfect. It's to make thoughtful decisions about where your time and money will have the biggest impact when you're ready to sell.

If a move might be part of your 2027 plans, I'm always happy to start that conversation early. There doesn't need to be a For Sale sign going up next week for us to make a plan. 🏡

🍎🍂 There’s something about September in the Annapolis Valley.

The farm markets are full, apple season is getting underway, the days are still warm enough to enjoy outside and those first signs of fall are starting to show up.

It’s also one of my favourite times of year to be driving around the Valley for work.

One appointment might have me at a new construction near Greenwood, the next at an acreage outside Middleton, then off to a cottage at one of our local lakes, a country property near Berwick, or an older home tucked into one of the Valley’s smaller communities.

That variety is one of the things I love about real estate here — and something I often talk about with buyers who are new to the area.

You don't necessarily have to choose between being close to everyday amenities and having a little more space around you. Sometimes expanding your search by 10 or 15 minutes opens up a completely different type of property.

If you're considering a move within the Annapolis Valley — or moving here for the first time — figuring out where to look is often just as important as figuring out what you're looking for. 🏡

Heads up, Greenwood! Residents may notice some extra activity in the skies over the Greenwood area Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20. The world-renowned RAF Red Arrows aerobatic team is scheduled to arrive at 14 Wing Greenwood at approximately 5:30 p.m., accompanied by their Airbus A400M Atlas support aircraft at approximately 4:30 p.m. (aircraft arrival times are subject to change, based on operational and weather considerations).
The visit is part of the Red Arrows’ transit through North America during their 2026 airshow season. Although there will be no aerobatic display, their short stopover provides an opportunity for 14 Wing Greenwood to demonstrate its ability to support international military aircraft and operations. If you're in the area, keep an eye on the skies!
