On Thursday night, I was deeply honoured to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Ontario Volunteer Service Awards, presented on behalf of the Province of Ontario, recognizing my 10 years of volunteer service with the Zonta Club of Guelph — though I’m proud to say I’ve now been a member for 13 years. 💛
The ceremony at Cutten Fields brought together about 40 wonderful volunteers from across Guelph, Fergus, Wellington County, Milton, and surrounding communities — all celebrated for their dedication and years of service.
I was so proud to receive my certificate from Mike Schreiner, MPP for Guelph, and to share the evening with my fellow Zontians Judy Brisson, honoured for an incredible 45+ years of service, and Dorienne Cushman, recognized for 5 years of service (though she couldn’t attend the event).
Through Zonta, I’ve gained far more than I could ever give — lifelong friendships, purpose, and a deep sense of pride in the work we do to improve the lives of women and girls locally and globally.
I encourage anyone who’s ever thought about getting involved in their community to find an organization that speaks to their heart. And if making a difference for women and girls resonates with you, send me a message — I’d love to tell you more about the incredible work we do at the Zonta Club of Guelph. 💪✨
