🚧 Groundbreaking Ceremony – August 31st! 🎉
We’re excited to celebrate a major milestone for 525 Stone Church Road East in Hamilton, as Victoria Park Community Homes prepares to officially mark the groundbreaking of its new Passive House Apartment on August 31st.

Construction is already underway on this exciting 107-unit mixed-market and affordable housing development, featuring a mix of 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and barrier-free homes, as well as community amenity space and an outdoor terrace for residents.
Designed with sustainability, affordability, and resident comfort in mind, the building is expected to achieve more than 50% energy savings compared to typical buildings and will include a roof-mounted solar photovoltaic system. 🌱☀️
The groundbreaking ceremony will be an opportunity to bring together partners, community members, and supporters to celebrate the progress made so far and look ahead to the positive impact this new development will have on Hamilton.

Leadership Announcement

The Board of Directors of Victoria Park Community Homes is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Bowen as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 14, 2026.

Matt will succeed Lori-Anne Gagne, who will retire on October 31, 2026, following twelve years of dedicated leadership and service to VPCH.

A Hamilton native with an Executive MBA from the University of Fredericton, Matt brings more than 20 years of experience in the affordable and community housing sector. Throughout his career, he has earned a strong reputation for strategic leadership, operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and developing meaningful partnerships across organizations and communities.

Matt began his housing career in operational leadership roles with Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes and CityHousing Hamilton before becoming CEO of Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation.

Please join us in welcoming Matt to Victoria Park Community Homes. We look forward to the leadership, experience, and collaborative approach he will bring as we continue advancing our mission and serving our communities.

Our AGM dinner is always a special opportunity to celebrate our people, our projects, and our partners.

This year, we were pleased to welcome our Service Managers, Councillor Rob Cooper, Ward 8, City of Hamilton, our many community partners, and our Board and staff.

A highlight of the evening was a keynote address from Lori-Anne Gagne, CEO, who will be retiring in late 2026. Lori-Anne reflected on the significant changes in the housing sector over the past 40 years and the work that continues to shape our communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all those who continue to support our mission, residents, and communities.

🎄✨ Celebrating a Successful Santa Walk! ✨🎄

This past weekend, our Resident Engagement Team brought smiles, laughter, and holiday joy to families across our communities. The annual Santa Walk, led by Natalie, Danny, and Alex, expanded this year to include our three VPCH communities plus four East Hamilton Kiwanis properties.

Thanks to their coordination and holiday spirit, gifts were delivered to 79 children across seven properties — making this one of our most successful Santa Walks yet! 🎅🎁

A heartfelt thank-you to Natalie, Danny, and everyone involved. Your dedication to fostering community connection truly brightens the season for our residents and their families.
