“You see tenants grabbing food for their peers, being a good neighbour. You see volunteers packing bags to bring to someone they know is struggling with their mental health and can’t leave their apartment but still needs access to basic necessities. You see people hanging outside [the Mobile Pantry], creating community. They’re spending time with their peers and getting out in the sun, instead of navigating isolation alone. It’s been really beautiful to see.”

Our team is so thankful for our friends at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, whose Mobile Pantry brings fresh, frozen and non-perishable food directly to Indwell tenants in Waterloo Region.

We're also honoured to be featured as their Agency Spotlight! Read more about how we're working together to "remove barriers while creating opportunities for connection, independence, and personal wellness."

🥰Huge thanks to Thrive Realty Group Inc., Brokerage for hosting such a nice BBQ at our Thompson Road program in London.

Not only did you bring all the food and your smiling faces to cook and serve it, you brought us a new grill! 🌭🍔

"For the first time, more people are exiting homelessness than entering it here, putting us ahead of most communities across Canada." 👏

Congratulations to the City of St. Thomas for this major milestone!

We're so pleased to be one of your partners in fighting this good fight to end homelessness in St. Thomas-Elgin.

A major milestone for St. Thomas-Elgin! 🏠

Between January and June 2026, 79 people moved from homelessness into housing — while 69 people became homeless during that same period. For the first time, more people are exiting homelessness than entering it here, putting us ahead of most communities across Canada.

Our By-Name List is also down 34% from this time last year.

This is proof our coordinated, community-wide approach is working, and that a functional end to homelessness in St. Thomas-Elgin by 2027 is within reach.

"At the Woodstock pilot, emissions fell from 3.9 to 0.9 tonnes/year per unit, a whopping 77% reduction, while eliminating tenants’ natural gas bills. What’s more, they found ways to speed up the retrofit process while maintaining high standards. By the third unit, the full retrofit was completed within only a one-month turnover window."

We're proud to be included with the London Environmental Network and Building Up in this article featuring Woodstock's Blossom Park, about how we're committed to greener housing, both for our tenants and the future of our world.

🤩Wow! Huge thanks go out to London Lambeth Rotary Club - Canada for this generous donation towards the former Bob Hayward YMCA.
This project will bring an estimated 100 new supportive homes to London!

Julie Ryan, Community Engagement Manager with INDWELL HOMES, was a recent guest speaker. She explained how Indwell creates deeply affordable, supportive housing communities that integrate mental health supports with helping people regain stability, health, and belonging across southwest Ontario.
In London there are currently 5 locations offering 232 units with a 2 more currently under construction as part of Vision SOHO project (138 more units). Indwell has recently purchased the former Bob Hayward YMCA in London which they will renovate to provide 40 units and construct an additional 60 more.
Rotarians Bob Boyce and Drew Annable presented Julie with a club donation towards the YMCA project.

St. Thomas' Police Chief Mark Roscamp has great things to say about Indwell. He calls Indwell one of his top partners, notes that people given a home and wraparound health supports are vastly less likely to interact with police, and openly admitted he doesn’t understand communities that fight supportive housing projects.

"In St. Thomas, people housed in Indwell properties saw a 30 percent drop in police calls compared with when they were on the street. Downtown calls for service dropped 14 percent, drug-related calls plunged, and encampments were prevented not through sweeps and tickets, but by putting roofs over people’s heads."

"The name 'Coves Landing' refers to a group of nearby oxbow ponds, which the city of London designated as an Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) due to its high species diversity. Artwork inside the building and on its window spandrels celebrates this unique context, showcasing local flora and fauna."

London's Coves Landing is beautiful inside and out — and check out that gorgeous artwork. 🤩

At Indwell's supportive housing programs, our staff help tenants with a lot of day-to-day needs, like food security, accessing community supports, housing maintenance — and sometimes finding some good old fashioned fun!

Yesterday, a large group of people from Parkdale Landing, Strathearne Suites, McQuesten Lofts, Rudy Hulst Commons, Perkins Centre, North End Landing, Caroline Apartments, and Prinzen Flats all gathered to go raspberry picking near Hamilton. We're so thankful for these opportunities for community and fun outdoors. 😎
