A picture is worth a thousand words. We always emphasize the importance of closing your bedroom doors when you go to sleep. Even these cheap six panel hollow core doors will buy you time in a fire. Look at how no smoke or heat made it into the bedroom. Now look in the hallway! Also look where the most damage is… Up high. This is why we preach to get down low if you have smoke or fire in your home. Practice that home escape plan and Close Before You Doze!!!!

This has been an ongoing concern and companies shouldn’t be allowed to do this.

If you own a home and need a new furnace or ac, please don’t rent them…find a way to get a loan instead. It will save you thousands and thousands of dollars.

When you rent them, they put a lien on your home and the fee to buy it out is huge. If you sell your home, most buyers will expect you to buy it out at close. If a buyer were to accept the rental for the ac or furnace when they buy the home, these companies usually start the rental period from scratch… so if you have a 15 year rental period on it, the company would restart it at 15 years for the new buyer.
