Should you keep your home on the market through the holidays or take it off? 🎄✨

Honestly, it really depends on the product and the area.

Here in Ontario (especially Simcoe County), inventory drops hard once December hits. A lot of sellers pull their listings because they don’t want showings or they assume no one is buying.

But here’s what people forget:

✔️ Buyers who sold in the fall NEED a place to close on early winter. They’re actively looking.
✔️ A lot of people want to start the new year in a new house — it’s a fresh chapter feeling.
✔️ With so many listings being taken off the market, you actually stand out more because the competition disappears.
✔️ And of course… not everyone celebrates Christmas, so the “slow season” isn’t slow for everyone.

So the answer isn’t a straight yes or no.
It comes down to your home, your goals, and having an agent who can guide you based on what’s actually happening in your local market.

We’re Samantha & David Valencia, high school sweethearts turned husband-and-wife real estate team, and parents to two amazing girls.
