Most expensive home problems usually don’t start as big problems.

They start as the small things people keep meaning to get to later.

June is a good month to quietly check in on the areas of your home that work hard in the background:
• leaks under sinks
• dryer vents
• grout and moisture areas
• siding, windows, and exterior buildup

Especially in Alberta, seasonal maintenance matters more than many people realize with how quickly weather and temperatures shift.

Nothing overwhelming.
Just small things done consistently that help protect your home over time ✨

Save this for your June home checklist.

ā€œWe started wondering if anyone was actually going to call us back.ā€

Buying a home is stressful enough without feeling like communication has suddenly stopped in the middle of it all.

By the time they reached out to me, they felt overwhelmed, unsure what was happening next, and stuck waiting for answers that never seemed to come.

And sometimes that silence creates even more stress than the actual situation itself.

After they contacted me, we were able to get things moving again, walk through what was happening, and make sure they weren’t trying to navigate everything alone.

One thing I never want clients to feel during a major decision is lost, ignored, or afraid to ask questions.

Communication matters more than people realize.

No pressure. Just clarity.

I’m realizing the more I get out, meet people, and have real conversations… none of us actually have life fully figured out šŸ’›

We don’t just ā€œgrow upā€ and suddenly become finished versions of ourselves.
We keep learning.
Adapting.
Changing.
Becoming newer versions of ourselves through every stage of life.

This isn’t a race.

And honestly, having people around you who genuinely care matters more than I think we realize sometimes.

Get out.
Try new things.
Talk to people.
Make connections.

You might be surprised how good it feels to simply feel connected again šŸ’›

Some places make you feel calm before you even understand why.

And there’s actually psychology behind that.

Natural water environments have been shown to help calm the nervous system, reduce mental fatigue, and create emotional regulation. Even the repetitive sound and movement of water can signal safety and calm to the brain.

Which honestly makes sense when you think about how many people instantly exhale the moment they arrive at the lake.

And in real estate, it’s interesting because people often think they’re choosing homes based only on logic…

but emotion and environment play a much bigger role than most realize.

Sometimes people connect to how a home or place feels first —
and then the reasons come after.

I’ve always found human behaviour fascinating and how deeply our environments affect us.

And honestly… I think that’s part of what makes Lesser Slave Lake so special šŸ’›

ā€œTrying to handle everything from out of town felt impossible.ā€

This situation was never just about selling a house.

It was their dad’s home.
Every room carried memories, emotions, and decisions that were much heavier than most people realize.

At the same time, the practical side still had to happen:

* cleaning things out
* preparing for showings
* coordinating everything from hours away

And that emotional weight can make even simple decisions feel overwhelming.

Some homes carry far more than financial value, and situations like this deserve patience, care, and understanding throughout the process.

I think sometimes people underestimate how emotional real estate can actually be until they experience something like this themselves.

No pressure. Just clarity.

To the EW Pratt High School Class of 2026 šŸ’›

Over the last two years, I walked into the school believing I was there to help teach and guide students… but the truth is, so many of you taught me too.

You reminded me how important laughter is on hard days.
How resilience can look different in every person.
How kindness, humour, honesty, and simply showing up matters more than perfection ever will.

Watching you grow into yourselves has been such a privilege, and being part of your journey is something I’ll always be grateful for.

Thank you for the conversations, the laughs, the chaos, the growth, and for making my days brighter more times than you probably realized.

I cannot wait to see where life takes all of you next.

Congratulations graduates šŸŽ“šŸ’›

This is your reminder that some of the best moments in life aren’t complicated.

A lake.
A sunset.
A boy who thinks every splash is the greatest thing ever.

Northern Alberta summers just hit different in Slave Lake šŸ’›
