This is what we all need to heal from, our pain our hatred 💔 our jealousy our colonized minds greed being the biggest one , dont bash me for my post just think about it, generational trauma is decades deep, dig within and help the next generations to do the same, rather then passing on what we had been watching and learning . Love to all hugs to whom are in need . We are family let's act as such .

The Mohawk Institute Residential School officially closed its doors on June 27, 1970. As one of the longest-running residential schools in Canada, the Mohawk Institute was a place of deep pain and cultural loss for many Indigenous children and families. Its closure marked the end of over a century of forced assimilation and trauma.

Two years later, in 1972, the building reopened as the Woodland Cultural Centre, to reclaim the space and preserve Indigenous history, language, art, and culture. Today, we remember the survivors, honour the children who never returned home, and uplift the voices that turned a place of suffering into one of resilience and healing.

Today, we acknowledge those impacted and reaffirm our dedication to supporting healing as well as the preservation and celebration of Hodinohsho:ni heritage.
