🍂 The Fall Things Your Home Is Trying to Tell You…
I always find it interesting how the little things around the house seem to become a lot more noticeable once fall arrives.
🪟 That draft around the window? I’d pay attention to it. What feels like a tiny annoyance now can become a very chilly room once winter arrives.
👃 And if you’ve noticed that your basement smells a little musty lately, don’t just ignore it. A change in smell can sometimes be a clue that there’s moisture somewhere that needs a closer look.
🏡 Then there are the eavestroughs. You know… the ones that seemed perfectly fine all summer? 😉 Once the leaves start falling, they can fill up pretty quickly. If water is spilling over the sides, it’s worth dealing with before it starts finding its way where you don’t want it.
☀️ Your furnace is another one. It’s about to go from “barely working” to “I’m running all day.” Check that filter before it gets busy. It’s a small thing, but an easy one to forget.
💨 And here's one we probably don't think about often enough: smoke and CO detectors. Fall is a great time to press that test button and make sure everything is working properly.
🔥 And finally… if you’re looking forward to that first cozy fire of the season, give the fireplace and chimney some attention before you light it. Nothing says fall quite like a fire — but it’s definitely worth making sure everything is ready first.
None of these are particularly exciting jobs, I know. But staying ahead of the little things now can save you from dealing with bigger headaches later.
