P-traps prevent sewer gases from coming back up through pipes and into your home (water sits in the low section).
S-traps are when the next down bend in the pipe is too close to the P-trap. It siphons the water out of the P-trap.
If you have a gross smell in a room with a sink, check to see if your P-trap has become an S-trap and/or call a plumber to repair.

Roof moss holds moisture, which is everything’s worst enemy. Clean it when you see it, but be careful not to damage the granular finish on asphalt shingles. They’re there to protect the roof from UV (and other weather) that can decrease the life of your roof.

“Cash jobs” don’t always work out for everyone if they don’t do a correct job the first time. You should know the exact details required of the job yourself if hiring for cash.
Consider the rebuild/repair costs, insurance, or warranty implications if they don’t do the job right.

Concrete cracks, but large cracks 1/8” wide or larger should have a specialist involved.
Retaining walls can have a lot of force against them, so even a small wall with a large crack can cost home owners a lot of money to repair. Over 4’ retaining walls require it to be engendered.
When looking at at homes or when you’re in your own yard cheque for cracks in concrete you can slide a credit card into.

Cars are bad, but so is walking your dog when it’s 30°C and hotter (burns their pads). Running them requires even lower temps.
I’ve helped a person resuscitate their dog while running it in the heat (you don’t want to be in that situation). They’re too loyal for their own good. They don’t sweat, can’t cool down like we can, and will do whatever we say regardless of their own well being.

Strike plate screws need to be attached with 3” general construction screws that go beyond the door jam and into the 2x4 door frame. Drill some small pilot holes as you remove your existing short screws (one at a time as you pre drill) and increase your security by making your door less “kick-in-able”.
For more protection you can get a security plate that is a single plate for the latch and deadbolt with multiple screws.

Do you have holes in your new roof? Flashings don’t need exposed nails, but if they are there they should have a mastic covering over them that needs to be regularly checked.
