I was flipping through Century in Review: An Okanagan Perspective and came across some absolutely fantastic old-school Realtor ads.

Naturally, I had to make my own. 😂

There’s something so fun about looking back at how real estate was marketed in the Okanagan decades ago — the photos, the slogans, the layouts… all of it.

So here it is: my very own vintage Realtor ad.

How fantastic is this?! I think we need to bring these back. 😂

A big thank you to Macklin McCall for always being responsive, listening to concerns, and genuinely taking the time to investigate issues that matter to local families.

One issue I recently brought forward is the significant difference in school bus fees across neighbouring Okanagan school districts.

For 2026/27, an eligible rider pays:

Central Okanagan SD23 — $550/year
Vernon SD22 — $136/year
Summerland/Okanagan Skaha SD67 — $100/year

That means Central Okanagan families are paying approximately 304% more than Vernon and 450% more than Summerland for the first eligible rider.

I understand every district operates differently and I appreciate the work SD23 has already done to streamline our transportation system. But when the difference is this significant, I think it’s important to understand why — particularly how provincial transportation funding is being allocated to our region.
