NEW, First Time Buyers take note:

Applications have officially opened for a new federal tax rebate for first-time homebuyers in Canada that could give you up to $50,000 back on the GST or HST paid for a new or renovated home. It applies to homes up to $1.5 million, and you can apply if you bought or built anytime from March 20, 2025, onward.

To qualify, you need to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and not have lived in a home you or your partner owned in the past 4 years. Applications are now open through the CRA, but payments could take a few months to arrive once processed.
