Our client is a construction/manufacturing firm seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team operating out of Vernon. With projects throughout Western Canada, they are recognized as an industry leader, offering quality services and products built on a foundation of experience, knowledge and best practices.
The Accounting Assistant will join a growing and dynamic organization, ready to add value with their skills and industry experience as an accountant. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and analyst, you will make it your mission to support the Controller in all budgeting, asset management, and financial reporting processes. The candidate must be well organized and ready to learn; a background in construction or manufacturing is a benefit (but not required).
The Accounting Assistant will:
Assist the Controller in the development of financial documents and accounting records
• Month end reports
• Quarterly reports
• Year end reports
• Project reporting
• GST, PST and other tax filing submissions
• Inventory reconciliations
• Account and ledger reconciliations
Work with the accounting department to input and maintain the accounting records for fixed assets, inventory, debt, inter-company transactions, corporate taxation, AP/AR, cash flow, etc.
Ensure reporting compliance with company policies and accounting regulation.
Support the accounting department on process and system improvements to increase efficiency in the office and field
The Accounting Assistant is:
Confident working within a team setting and comfortable working independently
Highly organized with excellent time management skills
Detail oriented
Proficient with technology systems and databases (Microsoft Office, SAGE, SAP)
