Safety isn’t just something we talk about. It’s how we work.

We’re proud to share that Troika has officially achieved its 2026 Certificate of Recognition (COR) Health & Safety Certification following an external audit by the BC Construction Safety Alliance.

COR is third-party recognition that our safety program meets a high provincial standard — from how we plan and train to how we look out for one another on site every day.

A big thank you to our entire construction team for making safety a shared responsibility and achieving this milestone.

What a way to spend a Saturday!

Troika was proud to sponsor this year’s JCI City Sprint, an Amazing Race-style adventure that had teams racing around Kelowna, tackling challenges and putting their teamwork to the test.

Last week, we officially broke ground at 155 Dougall, and on a project that represents much more than a new building.

Delivered in partnership with the City of Kelowna through the Middle-Income Housing Partnership, 155 Dougall will bring 129 new purpose-built rental homes and a 3,902 sq. ft. daycare to the Rutland community.

Designed with real life in mind, the building will include a mix of homes, a fitness centre, rooftop amenity space, storage, EV-ready parking and sustainable transportation options.

Most importantly, the homes delivered through the Middle-Income Housing Partnership will be thoughtfully integrated throughout the building — with the same quality, finishes and access to amenities as every other home.

It’s about creating a place where the people who help keep our community moving can put down roots, stay connected to the people and places that matter, and feel equally at home.

Thank you to the City of Kelowna, our project partners and everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone.

Fewer than 200 women have entered the WXN Media Top 100 Hall of Fame in its nearly 25-year history. Today, Troika is celebrating our Founder and CEO, Renee Merrifield, as she becomes one of the newest names on that list.

Named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019, her induction into the Hall of Fame recognizes sustained leadership and impact over the course of her career. She joins an esteemed group of Canadian women including Arlene Dickinson, Margaret Atwood, and Heather Reisman.

When Renee founded Troika in the late 1990s, it was with a belief in what’s possible when great people come together. Nearly three decades later, Troika is a fully integrated real estate company with land acquisition, development, construction, and property management all under one roof.

As she shared, “I have an amazing team of tenacious individuals who are passionate about community benefit. They take ideas and bring them to life. Almost nothing we have built came from Troika working by itself.”

Congratulations, Renee, on this well-deserved recognition.

Construction update at Gateway 286 in Merritt!

Progress continues across the 7-acre site, with paving now 60% complete. Buildings 100 and 200 have had their slabs poured and are ready for interior framing, while the steel structure for Building 300 is now complete. Building 400’s foundations are also nearing completion, with the suspended slab scheduled to be poured in the next two weeks.

Located at the intersection of Highways 5 and 97C, Gateway 286 will bring more than 47,000 sq. ft. of new commercial space and amenities to this important stop for travellers through the region.

We're proud to share that in partnership with Hallmark Communities, Troika has entered into a forward sale agreement with Chartwell Retirement Residences, one of Canada's largest seniors housing operators, to deliver a new 146-unit purpose-built seniors living residence in Vernon, BC, with construction beginning later this summer.

Located adjacent to Chartwell's Carrington Place residence, this new residence will expand the existing campus and help meet the growing need for quality seniors housing in the North Okanagan. By building alongside an established seniors' residence, the project will strengthen the continuum of care available to local seniors while creating more housing options for the area.

This project has moved from concept to construction at a remarkable pace, and we are grateful to the City of Vernon - Local Government, our consultants, and the team at Chartwell Retirement Residences for making that possible through strong alignment, decisive collaboration, and a shared commitment to increasing the supply of much-needed housing in our region.

We had a great time at Rock the Lake this past weekend!

Between the music, sunshine and meeting so many great people at our tent, it was a fun few days from start to finish. A special highlight was seeing one of our residents enjoying the festival after winning tickets in our giveaway, just one of the many perks of living in one of our communities.
