2026 - More personality pleaaaseeeeee
All-white everything is the new millennial grey. And frankly? We’re ready for a little more life.
Whether you’ve just purchased a home and are dreaming up renovations, or you’re looking to make some updates before putting your property on the market, here’s what we’re loving in 2026:
Less showroom. More soul.
We’re seeing a beautiful shift away from sterile, cookie-cutter interiors and toward spaces that feel collected, layered, lived-in, and unapologetically personal.
Nature is moving indoors. Think earthy neutrals, warm beige walls, forest greens, exposed brick, natural stone, rich wood grains, and organic textures. A little rustic, a little coastal, a little cabin in the woods.
Wood is having its moment. Mid-century modern influences, walnut cabinetry, vintage furniture, warm finishes, and natural materials are bringing character back into our homes.
Colour is making a comeback. Moody kitchens, colourful cabinetry, patterned wallpaper, statement walls, and unexpected combinations. We’re trading safe and predictable for warm and interesting.
Collected, not curated. Gallery walls with mismatched frames? Yes. Vintage finds mixed with modern furniture? Absolutely. Books, candles, plants, trinkets, family heirlooms, and sentimental pieces? Put them on display.
Personality over perfection. Mix your patterns. Layer your textures. Hang the art. Light the candles. Fill that empty corner with a ridiculously oversized plant.
The minimalist rulebook is getting a rewrite, and homes are starting to feel like homes again.
One little real estate note: If you’re updating to sell, there’s still a balance between personality and broad buyer appeal. Warm, inviting, thoughtfully styled spaces photograph beautifully, but you don’t need to embrace every trend to make an impact.
