It's the biggest game in the last 100 years in Hockey...ow lucky we are to get this in our lifetime....GO OILERS!

Bravo Funky Petals Kelowna for winning a best of Kelowna award the right way. I know that the sponsors want you to reach out to people and beg them to vote for you and thus... They get more subscriptions to Kelowna Now. I see many people in my profession pushing for votes and I feel like it's not the way to get an award. This little flower shop did not do any of that... They just won organically and for that... I tip my hat to them. I am a frequent shopper there and I think they ARE the best. Sometimes the world makes sense....

The BC Government has decided to revoke the rights of investors who paid a premium to buy property that can be used to air bnb in summer and house students in winter. I 100% get that their lack of planning around population growth has caused a lack of long term rental and unsustainable rent increases. However... This policy will:

1 - Further deter people from buying rental property. It does not make sense at low rental rates homes cost too much. This will lead long term to a bigger shortage of rental units.

2 - Reduce the amount of tourists in town which will have an impact on small business, many struggle through winter to enjoy the Summer boom.

3 - Create a need for students who only need accommodation Sept - April to have to rent year round. UBCO is adding 20,000 more students in the next 7 years.

With thousands of rental only apartments under construction I am not sure we even need this policy. Just as they did with the Spec Tax, The B.C Government has ignored the unique nature of the Okanagan and it's tourism and the positive impact of the growth in population during summer to small business and young people working in many seasonal jobs.

Not everyone will agree with me.... But if you do take a minute to read this and consider sharing this post and signing.

You may think "oh he's a real estate agent of course he is signing." Actually I have clients scrambling to sell these units, I am personally doing business as a result of this legislation. I just think it's wrong.

Are you going through a hard time? Thanks for all the birthday wishes, it occurred to me yesterday as I drove around and heard my phone ding with so many folks being kind enough to reach out... By the law of averages a couple must be struggling...

I reflected back on my own life, and it occurred to ,me that the toughest times lead to the best of achievements and most wonderful relationships and my luckiest breaks. I am not naturally talented at anything. For the most part, I have just been very lucky. But in order to get lucky.... You must keep going. The pot of gold is at the END of the rainbow, not the middle, and there is only rainbows when it rains! So as Winston Churchill said.. "When you are going through hell, keep going!"

Thanks again to you all for taking a moment to reach out and to those of you in a tough place, keep going. You don't have to be smart, tall, good looking or any of those things. You just have to persevere, and you will.
