“Market activity across the Interior is showing early signs of a soft rebound following a challenging few months. While broader geopolitical and economic uncertainty continues to make some buyers and sellers hesitant, inventory isn’t accumulating, which is helping maintain balanced conditions,” says Association of Interior REALTORS® President Ryan Mayne, adding that “we’re also seeing that well-priced homes are being picked up relatively quickly, which is an encouraging sign that the market is gradually moving in the right direction.”

The Association of Interior REALTORS® has developed a Municipal Election Priorities Document outlining key housing policy priorities to help inform conversations around housing policy, healthy communities and a thriving real estate sector.

We’ll also be releasing our Provincial Election Priorities Document soon, so keep an eye out for its release.

We’re so happy to see so many community members showing up, listening, and taking part in the municipal election process.

A big thank you to the Penticton Chamber of Commerce for hosting such an important community event and creating an opportunity for voters to hear from candidates and ask questions.

With the 2026 Municipal Elections approaching, conversations about housing, communities and the future of the BC Interior are more important than ever.

The Association of Interior REALTORS® has developed a Municipal Election Priorities document outlining key housing policy priorities and questions for local candidates. These priorities are intended to help inform conversations around housing policy, healthy communities and a thriving real estate sector.

We’re also supporting All-Candidates Forums taking place across the Interior, providing opportunities for voters to hear directly from those seeking municipal office.

“August was a difficult month for our communities. Evacuations displaced families, homes were lost, and the focus rightfully shifted away from real estate. Our thoughts are with everyone affected,” says Association of Interior REALTORS® President Ryan Mayne, adding that “activity slowed as a result, which is completely understandable given what so many people were going through.”
