Congratulations to Battlefield Barbecue on another successful Charity and Fundraiser.
Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this amazing fundraiser in support of CHEO, BETH DONOVAN HOSPICE, and the Kemptville Food Bank, it was definitely my honour!
For the last 10 years Jon and Rachel along with friends, colleagues and many other people have started a very special day where the community and many others can come together to help support their very special causes.
Jon prepares the food a couple days in advance, tents are set up, people donate to the silent auction and the event begins with the silent auction days before.
It is a great to see people out, chatting having a great time, kids enjoying the bouncy castle. There is such a positive vibe that surrounds this event, and the people working the event having fun adds so much more.
Today Rachel told me that people started lining up down the street at 930am to be able to get Jon’s famous Brisket, which they started to serve at 11am.
A full meal is presented to each person which includes smoked brisket, pulled pork or hamburgers, beans, stuffed jalapeños, baked potatoe, buns, amazing Mac and cheese, with all the fixings, sauces and top it off with desserts and drinks.
All the food is purchased by donation, and wow do we have a very generous community!
They also had a silent auction table which you could bid online.
As a lot of people know, I love my silent auctions. 😁
It was nice to see Kemptville/North Grenville’s Mayor, Nancy Peckford, always a wonderful person to bump into.
The weather nicely held off until the end when they were cleaning up, what a downpour!!
This is my first year participating and they can count on me again for their next events!
Congratulations and thank you, to Battlefield Barbeque!
You guys are amazing!!!
