🤍 A little warmth goes a long way.

One of the things we love most about being part of a small community is knowing that we can show up for one another.

This week, we’re collecting warm clothing for the Kenora Fellowship Centre to help make sure everyone has what they need as the colder months arrive.

If you have things tucked away in your closet that you no longer need, this is the perfect time to pass them along.

They are especially looking for hats, mitts, jackets, boots, shoes and other warm clothing for both men and women.

We’ll be collecting October 9th–15th at Poplar + Birch.

And because we want to say a little thank you for being part of this, when you donate, we’ll give you 15% off your purchase or a future purchase.

Sometimes it’s the things sitting in the back of our closets that can mean the most to someone else.

Let’s share a little warmth with our community.

Shout out to United tree service for great service as we required their help with our massive trees. Thanks to Carson and crew for taking such good care. It was quite the experience watching their team work. Thankful that the work is done so efficiently. People were very concerned that the trees were being totally cut down and relieved that they were only being trimmed.

We had the honor of hosting a time of gathering to commemorate National day for Truth and reconciliation. We are thankful for everyone, like all other days that came through the doors. We witness daily the realities of intergenerational trauma as a result of the residential schools and their impacts: 60 scoop, Day schools, Child Welfare system... We are thankful for those that participated in the creation of our version of a Heart garden. So many beautiful and uplifting messages that truly came from resilient hearts. Thanks to Elauna Boutwell for helping facilitate and for such caring support to the people. Shout out to ONWA / Brianne for donating " every child matters" tshirts. So much to be thankful for and especially to the survivors, our beloved elders who stand strong and help so many. Thanks to the circle sharing and caring for each other. Miigwetch to thed Staff, cooks, firekeepers, and helpers for such great care. In honor and in memory of survivors of the residential schools, families, and communities. So much to reflect on and also appreciate the donations that were made today. May these heart garden messages be nourished, grown, and blossomed. Much love and respect.

We appreciate the NWHU drug alerts and make them available to the people. Awareness is important and to take precautions where possible. The drug poisonings are devastating on the people and impacts are great.
