Kirkland Lake Beautification Committee (KLBC) : Our vision is to bring people together for beautification through community involvement by creating appealing neighbourhoods and public spaces within Kirkland Lake. We are a growing group of volunteers in KL who are cleaning up the litter in the springtime, or want to help plant more flowers and create beautiful gardens, others

want to trim back the brush and trees that have gotten too big, while others want to help homeowners keep their lawns and yards cleaned up or help cover up graffiti or unsightly spaces.

Safety reminder when parking downtown; park with your wheels close to the curb, and always check your mirror before opening your door into traffic. And yes its an offence under the highway traffic act to open door not in safety and you connect with a passing cyclist or vehicle. Be safe! 🇨🇦🌷🌻😊 Enjoy your day!

As part of our ongoing commitment to community revitalization, the Town is currently overseeing the safe removal of several vacant and derelict structures. This initiative is a vital step in upgrading our local streetscapes, eliminating long-standing safety hazards, and preparing prime space for future development opportunities. We are proud to invest in a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant future for our community.

We are now partnered with Shalom Farms Mennonite from Kenabeek for produce, a mix of lettuces, beets, onions, etc as it becomes available, as well as Countryside Mennonite Market Val Gagne, large tomatoes, grape tomatoes, strawberries, We have inventory starting every Wednesday.

Today KLBC repainted the steel miners at GRE next to Toburn, the lone prospector at Wright Hargreaves park and the lone fellow on Tweedsmuir near Civic park. I follow many of our northern neighbours fb pages to watch for cool ideas or fun things to share here. But one thing that pops up often in comments is how the communities are ‘sh&tholes or ‘full of zombies/homeless’ people and blaming the government, the neighbour, the new people, the old people, its ‘his fault the roads are full of potholes’ or ‘its their fault’ we have so much litter or the grass is too long or the graffiti looks terrible. Instead of being ‘that’person with endless complaints, come up with sensible ideas that help instead. Or come out to local events to help with clean-up or help your neighbour with an unruly lawn, or volunteer to help salvation army or cmha. Do something productive. Sheesh. 🫶🏾✌️I also reserve the right to remove and block negative ninnies on this page😜
