Last night I took my partner in crime Beth to Mediteraneo on University Ave in Waterloo for Greek food on Valentine's day. It was excellent.
I had the good fortune to work and live in the Greek Village on the Danforth in Toronto last century. Mediteraneo served us arguably the best Greek food I've had in over 20 years.
The Calamari were so tender and flavourful with little heat bombs from fried yellow banana peppers (wished there were a few more) NIce touch.
We both had pork souvlaki and it was delicious with large portions and perfectly cooked pork. Beth is a more strict Keto eater still and had their Greek garden salad instead of roast potatos and rice. I make this dish at home often. It was huge and delicious and they added capers which took it to a new level.
Our Server Adriana did a great job of taking care of us and I got a chance to drink some delicious greek wines that i had never tried before..
So often I leave a restaurant after a meal with the feeling that I could have done better at home. Heck, I went to culinary school at George Brown College in 1972.
NOT this time!!! We'll be back.👍👍😁
