🚨 NEW LISTING ALERT! 🚨

Helping your parents look for their next home usually means finding a balance between a simpler layout for them and peace of mind for you.

This bright, main-floor bungalow is located in Riverview Meadows, a quiet 55+ neighbourhood right in Exeter, just 15 minutes from Lake Huron and 30 minutes from London.

It is designed to be low-maintenance without feeling small, so there is still plenty of room when family comes to visit.

HOME HIGHLIGHTS:
✅️ 1,215 sq ft with absolutely no stairs.
✅️ A kitchen with a centre island that opens into a living room with a cozy fireplace.
✅️ Two bedrooms and two full baths, including a primary suite with a walk-in closet.
✅️ A private back patio with a gas BBQ hookup, an attached garage, and a massive lower level for storage or hobbies.

If you think this might be the right fit for your parents, DM me for more details or to book your private showing. 💌

I talk to so many women in their 40s and 50s who feel like hitting the reset button means they messed up the timeline.

But the old timeline was built for a completely different world.

Starting fresh is heavy, and it takes a lot of courage. But it also means you get to decide exactly what the rest of your life looks like.

If you’re looking at the housing market right now and trying to figure out how to make it work on your own, please know that you are not behind. Single women are actually driving this market right now. We are buying homes at double the rate of single men.

You don’t need to wait for a partner, and you don’t need a co-signer. You just need a practical strategy that protects your peace and your money.

What do you want your next chapter to look like? Let’s grab coffee and talk about it. 😉

I think one of the hardest things to accept after a painful experience is how quickly we turn against ourselves afterward.

We replay conversations.
Missed signs.
Moments we wish we handled differently.

And somewhere along the way, we start speaking to our past self with information they never actually had.

I’ve learned that healing sometimes looks less like “figuring everything out” and more like softening the way you speak to yourself about what happened.

Especially the version of you that was simply trying to make the best decisions they could at the time.

That version of you deserved compassion too.

Reading reviews like this always makes me smile 🤍

Summer at Olive & Oak always seems to bring out the simple things people end up loving most.

Slow mornings outside. Long beach days. Hammocks that somehow stay occupied all afternoon. Evenings where everyone lingers outside a little longer because nobody’s ready for the day to end yet.

I’d love to host more memory-filled weekends like this one ☀️ If you’ve been thinking about planning a lake trip with your favorite people, this is your sign to book it.

Richard, thank you for spending time at Olive & Oak with your family and for leaving such a thoughtful review ✨

A lot of what I thought was “just me” started to make more sense once I stopped brushing it off.

The changes in my body.
The burnout I didn’t notice building for years.
The way I was still trying to hold everything together the same way I used to.
And how easy it is to lose yourself in work, relationships, and responsibility without realizing it at first.

These are some of the things I’ve had to learn the hard way, and what has actually helped me start moving through them a little better.

Young women are prioritizing financial independence, emotional stability, homeownership, and work that actually feels meaningful more than ever.

Marriage and children still matter. Just not as the only definition of success the way it used to be.

And honestly, a lot of this feels familiar if you really think about it.

Life feels more stable when you have something of your own to stand on.

For a long time, security was framed as something you would eventually get through someone else. A relationship. A marriage. A shared life down the line.

But more women are not really rejecting that. They are just not waiting on it to feel steady anymore.

And that changes things. You move differently when your stability is not hanging on someone else’s decisions or timing.

Your own money. Your own space. Your own direction. A life that still feels like yours even when things shift.

You are not difficult for wanting that.

You are allowed to build your life in a way that holds you.

I think a lot of women are starting to realize that they don’t want a life that only looks good from the outside. They want a life that feels good to live in.

✅️ A home that feels peaceful
✅️ Money that creates options
✅️ Relationships that feel safe
✅️ A nervous system that isn’t constantly in survival mode

I don’t think that means you want “less” from life. If anything, I think it means you finally understand what matters to you now.

The older I get, the more I realize success is probably less about proving something… and more about building a life that actually supports you.

Curious if anyone else has felt this shift lately. What does success mean to you now?

I didn’t always think this way.

A lot of these questions came up slowly over the years… sitting in therapy, having conversations I didn’t expect to have, noticing patterns I used to ignore.

Not big, dramatic breakthroughs. Just small moments where something clicked. Like realizing I was making decisions based on what felt urgent, not what actually mattered. Or noticing how easy it is to stay in routines that don’t really support you anymore.

That kind of awareness changes how you move.

We’re really excited for tomorrow!

It’s not often you get to be in a room like this with other women, where you can slow down a bit, have real conversations, and just think about your life in a different way. It’s going to be such a special afternoon.

Quick reminder to arrive between 11:45 AM – 12:00 PM for registration. We’ll be starting right at 12:00 PM.

If anything comes up, feel free to send me a DM or Kathleen
