This is great news for many, and especially those buying or selling a home right now on Vancouver Island!

🔹We did it! All wildfires on Vancouver Island now out, under control or being held, BC Wildfire Service says🔹

Multiple wildfires since Thursday that were primarily caused by lightning strikes are now out, under control, or being held, according to the latest information from the BC Wildfire Service.

Since late last week and over the weekend, several fires were downgraded from an out-of-control status to more amenable states, including a fire in Sooke near the Sunriver community (the cause was not confirmed prior to the fire’s removal from the BCWS map) and a fire at Goldstream Park caused by lightning.

🏕️A campfire ban remains in effect on the southern half of Vancouver Island. Small campfires remain permitted on the northern half. Check with your local jurisdiction about fire regulations prior to having a campfire if you’re unsure of local restrictions where you are, that may be in effect.
