💫 Bathroom Renovation, Part 8: a custom shower niche.

We started laying tile before cutting the opening so we could see exactly where the tile edges would fall. That let us size the niche to line up with two tiles in one row and avoid unnecessary cuts.

We build niches around each bathroom and what the homeowner needs to keep within reach in the shower.

Part 7: the tile is going in. We start with the shower floor, then move to the rest of the bathroom. ✨

On the main floor, we apply mortar to the back of each tile, set it carefully and check the alignment as we go. That attention to contact and placement helps the finished floor hold up to everyday use.

We also install floor tile in kitchens, entryways, basements and other spaces. Planning a tile project in Langford, Colwood or Greater Victoria?

Bathroom Renovation, Part 6: we’re installing in-floor heating. 🔥

Tile works well in a bathroom, but it can feel cold underfoot. A heated floor makes those everyday moments more comfortable, especially on chilly mornings. We’re installing it now, before the new tile goes in.

With 20 years of experience in bathroom and tile work, we can take care of this upgrade as part of your renovation.

Part 3 of this bathroom renovation: levelling the floor.✨

Once the surface is prepped, we pour and spread the mixture to create an even base for the work ahead. You won’t see this step in the finished bathroom, but it’s part of getting there.

We’re starting a full bathroom renovation. In this first video, you’ll see what the space looked like before work began and the existing shower coming out.

There’s a lot more ahead, and we’ll share the project as it moves through each stage. Consider this episode one. 😉

The tile comes later. 💫 First, the shower and tub areas need to be properly prepared and waterproofed, with close attention to every corner, seam and transition.
