The Alzheimer's Society of BC and the Yukon
Is a safe place to find support when someone close to you has dementia.

I am grateful to the Alzheimer's society for helping me learn about the disease when my mom was diagnosed so much so that now I give back and volunteer my time as a facilitator for a Langley Dementia support group.

If you are someone you love are diagnosed with Dementia the best thing to do is learn about the disease. As mentioned, no 2 people are the same, however,
just getting a bit of basic understanding is so helpful.

What did you learn about yourself during the care partner journey.

I would add even though my mom is in a long term care home we continue to learn about ourselves and the disease.
