For decades, you’ve been told to install fresh batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when you change your clocks in spring and fall. This simple reminder has no doubt saved countless lives, since fire investigators tell us that powered and properly maintained smoke alarms double your chances of escape.

Smoke alarms scan for danger millions of times in their lifespan, so eventually they wear out. Smoke alarms must be replaced every 10 years, and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms every five to seven years depending on the manufacturer. Checking the age of your system is critical, so that you don’t put new batteries into outdated alarms.

This is the latest addition to my family! It is a 1972 Pontiac Ventura II, one owner, unrestored (other than the wheels and tires) has 95,000 miles on it and hasn't been driven since 1997.

Paint and Upholstery are near perfect and all original. We are so excited :)

My Mortgage Girl Rosa-Anna has some great tips in her newsletter this month about how little changes can make a big impact to your mortgage for example:
"Rounding up your mortgage payments a few dollars each payment can help make your balance decline sooner. If you round up your mortgage payment from, say, $766 to an even figure such as $800, you can feel confident in knowing that every extra bit goes toward your principal"

The Langley Loafers Old Time Drag race is on this weekend. Lots of great drag racing and everyday is a show and shine in the pit area, lots of parking and spectator seats available. This has been going on for quite a few years and is always a good time :)

Celebrating drag racing’s glory days of the 60’s to 70’s, this is a class designed for vehicles built in the nose-high style of these classic quarter milers and faithful to the spirit of the original gassers, AWB and M/P cars of this era.
