The first participants moved into London’s Micro-Modular Shelter earlier this week, marking an important step in supporting people experiencing homelessness as they work toward housing stability.
Move-ins will continue gradually, with small groups arriving each day. This approach allows staff to provide intake, orientation, and individualized supports while ensuring the site operates smoothly as occupancy increases.
Xpera is overseeing day-to-day operations with 24-hour on-site staffing, including personal support workers, participant support staff, administration, and security. The City’s Life Stabilization team is also on site several times each week to support participants on their journey toward long-term housing.
Daily shuttle service helps participants access appointments, services, and community supports.
At its core, the shelter is about stability, providing participants with a warm place to sleep; a door that locks; and access to meals, laundry, and consistent support.
