Last week I was out visiting in Shaw Valley in St. Thomas, Ontario chatting with some of the residents, handing out a neighbourhood specific market update for the month of May 👀👀 & I must say this neighbourhood is a show stopper 🤩

Shaw Valley has this super friendly, family vibe that I instantly loved. Friendly people, beautiful homes – it’s got such a great community feel. 🌳🙌🏻 Not to mention jaw dropping sunsets 🌞

Why move to St Thomas? 🤔 If you're anything like me, St Thomas was NOT on our radar when we started our home search last spring. We were pretty much dead set on staying in London. After looking at a bunch of homes, we weren't really happy with what we were seeing within our budget & the homes just didn't check all our boxes. So we opened our minds to the idea of St Thomas and let me tell you, it wasn't the St Thomas that I had remembered from years ago. I was under the impression that it was majorly lacking in the amenities department but as locals know- the city has seen massive expansion in the past few years.⁠

Some of the bonuses we've noticed after just over a year of living here: ⁠
👀 Our money went further & homes are typically a little more affordable here.⁠
🚗 Traffic is SIGNIFICANTLY less. (Which was honestly kind of a culture shock for us coming from London & when we go back to London we wonder how we had the patience for the traffic 😂)⁠
🛣️ The drive into London is only about 25 minutes to the South & East ends which have anything St Thomas might be missing. (Costco, White Oaks Mall)⁠
🌳 The parks & trails here are beautiful & incredibly well kept. ⁠
🛒 These days, there isn't much we find ourselves needing to go into London for.⁠
⏳️ Everything feels close together, saving time + gas! ⁠

Looking for a peaceful, quiet, serene trail to walk with your family or your dogs? Lake Margaret Trail is one of my favourite walks in the city. Beautiful at all times of year and fully paved, this gorgeous 2.6km loop is perfect for walking, running, biking or rollerblading. 🚲️🚶🏻‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️🐶🛼⁠

The best part? If you're a nature lover, you will absolutely fall in love with the area surrounding this lake. There's only a few homes listed in this incredibly desirable neighbourhood right now, and they don't come up super often. Was in west Lorne today checking out a SUPER UNIQUE property… my jeans are a little wet in this photo cuz I fell in the septic tank 😮 just kidding got ya, no I didn’t.😂😂 We went to walk on the beach after and the waves got a little more intense than expected 🌊 This property was about 15 minutes from Port Glasgow and it was the first time I had ever been to that beach. Really nice little spot, not busy at all. 😍☀️🌊

We bought our first house this time last year because of the backyard and we are going to live every moment we are not working - out here with the girls this summer. Swipe to see Millie’s closeup 😂 & swipe a few more times to enjoy the absolute magic is creating with the new lense 😍😍😍😍
