๐ŸŽ“โค๏ธ It feels like yesterday I was dropping Emily off for her first day of JK. I remember telling her some of the kids might be upset and crying that first day. (I was worried it might be her! ๐Ÿ˜)

Her response?

"That's okay, Mommy. I'll help them."๐Ÿฅฐ

Last night she graduated from East Elgin in Aylmer with 9 awards.๐Ÿฅณ

I'm so proud of her very hard work, determination, resilience, and the caring, confident young woman she's become.

After deciding she was done with music in Grade 9, she quickly realized she wasn't. Now, she's heading to Queen's University in Kingston for Music this fall. ๐ŸŽถ

I'm so excited to see where her very bright future takes her and what she does next!

โ€œThe only way Iโ€™m leaving this house is in a pine box!โ€

Maybe youโ€™ve heard that in your own family. Dead serious. Everyone laughs nervously.

But nobody says anything.

And slowly, without anyone noticing, the basics start getting used less and less. Laundry. Bathing. The basement. Anything that means dealing with those stairs.

Until something happens.

I had a relative like that. Stubborn as they come. We got him an emergency button. Paid for the subscription. He wouldnโ€™t wear it.

My dad found him on the floor. Heโ€™d been there over 24 hours. Face down. Couldnโ€™t move.

Thatโ€™s the call nobody wants to get.

This isnโ€™t always about selling the house. But somebody needs to get proactive about the real dangers in the home.
