I’m curious what the real opinion is here in Nova Scotia - can you help?

Solar panels are becoming more common, especially with rising power costs—but from a real estate perspective, the big question is:

👉 Do they actually add value when it’s time to sell?

I’ve seen mixed reactions from buyers:
• Some specifically want solar for the long-term savings
• Others like the idea… but don’t always want to pay higher
• And some prefer to avoid it altogether as they don’t like the look of it..

So let me ask you 👇

👉 Would you prefer a home with solar panels?
👉 And be honest… would you pay MORE for that home because of it?

Or do you think:
💭 “Nice feature—but not worth a higher price”

💬 If you’ve had solar, looked at homes with it, or passed on one because of it—I’d really like to hear your experience.

👇 Comment your opinions below and feel free to explain why! I wanna know!

📍 South Shore Nova Scotia Real Estate Market Update – April 2026

We are already finished the first quarter of 2026!

Thinking about buying or selling on the South Shore of Nova Scotia? Here’s what’s happening in the local real estate market right now 👇

🏡 Average home price: $278,348
⬇️ (Down from $394,906 this time last year – Q1)
⏱ Average days on market: 91 days
📊 Inventory: Down from last year

👉 What this means for buyers:
If you find a property you love on the South Shore that’s well-priced, it’s important to act quickly. While some homes are sitting longer—often due to overpricing—this can create opportunities to negotiate.

👉 What this means for sellers:
Pricing your home correctly and having a strong marketing strategy are more important than ever in today’s Nova Scotia real estate market.

The market has shifted from the fast-paced COVID years at the beginning of the decade—today’s buyers are more selective and informed.

Whether you’re buying your first home on the South Shore or selling your current property in Nova Scotia, understanding these trends can make a big difference in your results.

I help clients navigate the South Shore Nova Scotia. I specialize in helping buyers relocate from out of province or internationally to Nova Scotia.

🎥 If you’re thinking about listing your home, I’d love to create a high-quality video to showcase your property to buyers not just locally—but across the country and worldwide.

With inventory still relatively low, NOW is a great time to get your home on the market. (Now is probably the best time of year to list)

This is what winter looks like in my little town of Shelburne, Nova Scotia ❄️🌊

Saving this for when clients ask how much snow we actually get — this is about the most I’ve seen in my 4 years here! This winter has been record-breaking cold, but fun fact: the South Shore is one of the warmest regions in the province thanks to southern ocean winds 🌬️☀️ The temps are much warmer to the south in comparison to the North (Halifax or Cape Breton) as they do tend to get much more snow than the south shore.

How cold has it been?
Here’s a quick January weather recap for Shelburne:
❄️ Temps were often below freezing — daytime highs around 0 °C and many nights below −7 °C
🌧️ A real mix of winter weather: snow, rain, freezing rain, and a few stormy stretches

February is usually the coldest month, so we’ve got one more round of winter before things start to move into spring 🌷 I will also say the guys do a great job of clearing and salting the roads. They are on it with plowing asap (this is where a lot of the municipal tax money goes to!)

☑️Home buyer tip: If you’re buying in Nova Scotia, always think about a backup heat source. Winter storms can knock out power, and you don’t want to be without heat in January or February out here.

Awards usually make me cringe but I’m choosing to celebrate this one, because I know how hard I’ve worked to get here 🤍

I’m truly grateful to have received the President’s Gold Award this year and see my growth in 3 years of business. To me, it reflects the consistency, care, and commitment it takes to be trusted as someone’s realtor which is a role I don’t take lightly. Helping clients navigate big, life-changing moments requires honesty, clarity, and genuine care, and I’m honoured that my clients place that trust in me and be able to help them get to their next chapter.

Buying or selling a home isn’t always tied to the happiest seasons. Sometimes it means late-night calls, emotional conversations, and working through complex situations with empathy and nourishment. I take that responsibility seriously and feel privileged to be a steady support to my people.

Thank you to my incredible clients for choosing me, and to my husband, Chris, for the behind-the-scenes support and videography, creative ideas, and always helping bring my work to life.

Feeling grateful, proud, and very thankful 🤍

Thank you to 2025 and I am coming for you 2026! 💕🙏🏽🔥
