🚨 COMMUNITY UPDATE — Box Grove / Ward 7 Residents

We just learned that the City of Markham has scheduled a Community Information Meeting for the Ninth Line & Copper Creek (Box Grove North Inc.) development – File PLAN 22 264697 on
🗓️ Thursday, October 23, 2025 | 🕖 7 PM – 9 PM | 📍 Council Chamber, Civic Centre – 101 Town Centre Blvd

This meeting was announced with almost no public notice, and many residents only found out through friends or social media. That’s not fair for a project that could dramatically impact traffic, schools, and infrastructure in Box Grove and the Legacy community.

Councillor Nimesh Patel has respectfully stepped aside due to a conflict of interest, which is the correct legal step — but that leaves Ward 7 without a direct representative to speak on this file.

Our community deserves to be properly informed and represented.
The City should explain why this meeting was called on such short notice and assign someone to ensure Ward 7 residents’ voices are heard.

These builders are truly shrewd. These notices seem to be merely for show, as the builder is already selling these condos even before receiving approval from the city. Their confidence is evident.
