✅ New "Parking Zones": The city will be divided into specific zones. "Zone 1" and "Zone 2" (urban centres like Downtown Markham and areas with high transit) are set to transition from free to paid public parking.

​✅ Why the change? The goal is to manage traffic congestion, encourage people to use transit or cycle, and modernize how parking works as the city grows.

​✅ Revenue usage: Money collected from parking fees is intended to go back into city services and transportation improvements.
