Old Doc's Place A red cedar wood cottage built in the 70's on the shores of Negeek Lake in the heart of Ontario's Canadian Shield.

The Madawaska River flows thru this lake on its way to the Ottawa River and just out front the York River flows in coming from Bancroft.

On our way. RAP time. Ride Algonquin Park. Lots of snow and cold so should be good. Around 800 km by sled. Will take 3 nights. Combermere, Dwidght, Mattawa, Deep River and back to Combermere.

Fall coming on hard at 7am. Just 2 days ago flurries in the air with temperatures hitting +3c. Bright sunny days with warm afternoons. The flowers dying off, leaves starting to fall, with the warm lake turning cooler and cooler daily. The boats and crowds are gone but to many locals this is the best time of year. No bugs, stillness, cool crisp days. Time to ready for long cold winter days. Close up the cottages, put the docks away, shut down all outdoor water, put the gardens to bed. In a few weeks many days will be spent gathering all the bright coloured leaves. In a few weeks the white stuff will make an entrance. In a few months just maybe the snow machines can be used to ride thru the miles of incredible forests and lakes we live around. It was a great summer. A little wet but still some big memories created with friends and family. Happy Fall everyone.
