“They can’t all be a palace”.
That was the response from my mom when I was venting to her about everything that was going wrong with this listing. When it was looking like yet ANOTHER deal was going to crash, she put things in perspective.
She was right, but I didn’t wanna hear it at the time. I just wanted to vent.
But the truth is, we learn more from the difficult sales than we do from the easier ones. And on this little Irvine beauty, let me tell ya, I learned a LOT haha.
Multiple crashed deals.
Approximately 500 phone calls.
Possibly 200 emails asking for info.
Approximately 40 trips to Irvine & back.
Ridiculous demands from some of the most unqualified “buyers” on the planet.
If I’m speaking honestly…it got to a point where I wanted to ignore my phone when it rang, because I knew it was probably about this house. And if you know me, you know that that’s just not me. I have never been so mentally drained by one listing in my 20+ years.
BUT…
Somewhere in the middle of it all, I remembered that I was fortunate to be doing my ELEVENTH transaction with an awesome client that had trusted me so many times, and I owed it to him to get this done.
I remembered how fortunate I am to be working in an industry I love, and one that has been so good to me for so long.
And I DID gain a whole new appreciation for the “easier” sales, as many of them are much more difficult these days.
This SOLD sign is the sign of a battle won. A mental battle. It’s one that I’m pretty proud of. One that tested me.
All for a $93,000 sale. Safe to say I didnt make a dollar here after that much time and that many trips. But I got paid in perspective. Sometimes that is much more valuable.
