It is so easy to think because there is one bad egg, the whole batch must be spoiled and discarded as rotten. It is the same in general life. You may interact with a bad agent, a bad driver, a bad neighbor but it doesn't mean they are "all" bad.

Today I had to remind myself of that when I interacted, for a second time, with a really rude Mountie. Unfortunately, I think he is a regular in our district. For the most part, my interactions with our enforcement is professional, even pleasant sometimes. I have several clients in that line of work that I adore! But their role has frustrating limitations and they have a dangerous job most people wouldn't want.

This chap though - he is a real peach (a tough stringy one). I think he just gets out of bed on the wrong side every day. He is the opposite of a people person. I didn't disagree with his answers, just his delivery.

So if you encounter Mr. Congeniality (not) on duty, give him an extra big smile. Grumpy people like that tend to need more lovin'. If he upsets you, I get it. Drop me a note, we can laugh it off together! Cheers!

August Traffic Safety Focus: New Drivers
A learner’s license is not a license to drive alone.
A Ford Mustang was stopped on Highway 546 after being observed travelling 107 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver held a Class 7 learner’s license, and the two passengers in the vehicle did not have valid driver’s licenses.
The result:
• $295 ticket for speeding
• $105 ticket for illegal window tint
• $324 ticket for driving without proper supervision
• $396 tow bill
New drivers are learning, but they are still responsible for following the rules of the road. Speeding, driving without supervision, and unsafe vehicle modifications can quickly turn a short drive into expensive consequences.
If you hold a Class 7 learner’s license, make sure you have a properly licensed supervising driver with you every time.
