One year ago, a valued member of the Milo Community passed away. Together with his brothers and sisters-in-law, a former member of our board, James Will, was instrumental in launching the Will Family Legacy Project to give Milo a new restaurant facility. Earlier, in the summer of 2021, we said goodbye to his sister-in-law, Donna Will.
By the end of 2022, we mourned the sudden passing of Alvin Winch, the President who lead by his example through the course of this project and had served on the Board of Directors for 23 years. Fortunately, both James and Alvin were able to see the following video before they passed and were very appreciative of the support received for the new restaurant facility project.
While the video is a thank you to the Milo Community and the donors who made this project possible, we also consider it a tribute in memory of James Will and the Will Family, as well Alvin Winch.
At its meeting on Monday, March 6th, the Board of the Milo Development Co-op decided that the money raised in memory of Alvin Winch will be put toward the purchase of a new pizza oven, replacing the faulty unit for which parts are now unavailable. Thank you to Sheila and the Winch Family for helping to make this possible, requesting, as they did, that donations in memory of Alvin be made to the Milo Development Co-op in lieu of flowers. We appreciate everyone who made a donation, as well as Sheila for sending each of them a personal note of thanks.
We remember the leadership and community service of James and Alvin, being grateful for the Milo Community and its ongoing support over the years.
