The moment I walk into a listing, my eye goes to five things. Every time.

And it’s not the paint colour. Not the flooring. Not what needs renovating. The things that are quietly working against the home, and the seller doesn’t even know it.

1️⃣ Furniture that’s too large for the room, paired with rugs and artwork that are too small (it’s almost always this combination)

2️⃣ No clear focal point for the eye to rest on

3️⃣ Lighting fixtures at the wrong scale

4️⃣ Countertops carrying too much

5️⃣ Curtains hung at window frame height instead of ceiling height.

These aren’t design opinions. They’re the five things that make buyers feel unsettled without knowing why, and walk out without making an offer.
