Seemingly days away from leaving winter behind us, it’s important to remember to run through a checklist of getting your home ‘Spring Ready’ to ensure your maintaining, encouraging longevity, and retaining value moving into the warmer and more exposed seasons.
Here are six easy steps to help prepare your home for the warm weather -
1. Check and clear your gutters and downspouts
2. Fix any minor cracks and have any major cracks inspected for safety and longevity
3. Caulk and repair any window frames and possible leaks
4. Move any wood, junk, or debris from your house to increase curb appeal
5. Inspect your air conditioning unit, outdoor faucets, and lights for optimal usage and efficiency
6. Don’t forget the inside! - Whilst this is a great time to get all the outdoor work done, be sure to keep the momentum going and check those things we all forget about inside the house - replace/clean your furnace filter, check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, check your dryer vent for lint buildup, and have your fireplace cleaned.
