This wasn’t just a washer and dryer. It was something we truly needed, and it will make a real difference for the incredible volunteers who give their time to support Percy’s Place every single day!

Ice Cream…For Breakfast?🍦

Confession: I had ice cream for breakfast on Sunday. Zero regrets. My husband was a little smarter than me and got food.

We stopped by Champs Dairy Bar on Ritchie Wharf, and if you haven’t been, you need to go. It’s not just ice cream — they’ve got food, candy, and drinks too, all in that perfect wharf-side spot.

Paula and Geff have owned Champs for 5 years now. The unit came up for sale, and they were ready for a change — so they took the leap. The name “Champs” actually has great meaning - it comes from kids in their family: C**t, Haley, Albert, Max… and Paula herself rounding it out. And get this — they both still work full-time jobs on top of running the shop. That kind of hustle deserves your business.

We meant to snap a selfie with our food and ice cream for the memories. Didn’t happen. We ate way too fast and got way too caught up chatting with Paula and Geff to remember the camera. Worth it.

And honestly, this is such a Miramichi moment: somewhere in that conversation, we mentioned we needed top soil for our lawn. Turns out Paula and Geff’s son-in-law does exactly that. A few days later — top soil, delivered.

That’s kind of the magic of Miramichi, isn’t it? You go out for ice cream and come home with a landscaping contact. It’s the same reason I love doing real estate here — you’re never just buying a house, you’re plugging into a community where everyone’s connected in the best way. 🏡💚
