Good news!! The Governments of Ontario and Canada announced an expansion of the HST exemption on new homes for first-time buyers to include all buyers. This news to temporarily remove HST for one year will move the needle for buyers looking for their next home and energize the housing market. :)

This could temporarily remove the full 13% HST on many newly built homes.
• Homes up to $1.5M → rebate of up to $130,000
• Timeline: April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
