🎉👨⚕️ BIG NEWS FOR FUTURE FAMILY DOCTORS IN ONTARIO!
Ontario is taking a major step toward addressing the shortage of family doctors. 🩺🇨🇦
The province’s Learn and Stay Grant for Medical Education can cover 100% of eligible medical-school tuition and compulsory educational costs for eligible students who commit to practising comprehensive family medicine in Ontario.
That could mean a huge financial difference for future doctors who might otherwise face years of medical-school debt. 🎓💰
But there’s an important condition: recipients must commit to 5 years of comprehensive family-medicine practice in Ontario after completing their residency. If the commitment isn’t fulfilled, the funding may have to be repaid.
The goal is simple:
➡️ Reduce the financial barriers to becoming a family doctor
➡️ Encourage more doctors to practise in Ontario
➡️ Help communities that need more primary-care physicians
➡️ Improve access to family healthcare across the province
This isn’t simply “free medical school for everyone” — it’s a funding program tied to a commitment to serve as a family doctor in Ontario.
Still, for someone dreaming of becoming a family physician, this could be a life-changing opportunity. ❤️
Would you consider medical school if Ontario covered your eligible education costs in exchange for a 5-year commitment to practise family medicine in the province?
