As a landlord and investor, one of the common objections I get from talking to people outside of real estate is the fear around tenants and non payment of rents.

It doesn’t help in Ontario when a body like the Landlord Tenant Board doesn’t seem to serve both sides fairly, and often in favour of tenants. This is something that you have to be mindful of when investing in property.

However, with strong tenant selection processes, people skills and management, many of these issues can be avoided up front.

I respect our tenants, and they respect us. Here’s 5/7 units that paid September rent a day early.

Don’t let headlines scare you. Be careful, be selective, be fair.

Hey guys 👋🏻

You haven’t seen me in a while, and the big reason is work.

I’ve been putting in a lot of hours at my 9-5 the last few months, working on some cool files for the military. I work full time for the government, and invest in real estate currently on the side.

My job isn’t my passion, and I certainly don’t plan to be a GoC lifer until retirement. But the job stability has helped endure some of the challenges with the current market this past year, and granted me peace and security while building a business, pursuing my goals, and enjoying things I love.

Funny I used to hate it, and now though may not love it, can be grateful for it until I can exit and pursue business full time.

This summer has required a lot of overtime and work focus, leaving less energy to show up on socials.

That doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on my business in the background, and am excited to be unrolling some exciting things over the next few weeks and months. Stay tuned for that!

Happy Father’s Day to all the rad dads out there, and especially mine!

I’m lucky to have a dad who encourages my crazy ideas, believes in his kids, and shows up for his family.

He taught me to never take life too seriously and to always laugh at myself,

Spent the day golfing, laughing and enjoying quality time. While reminding him constantly that I’m his favourite child 💁🏻‍♀️

I hope today was just as special for you, regardless of how you spent it ❤️
