🚴‍♀️ Heads Up, Rockwood Village! 🚴‍♂️

This Saturday, June 13, thousands of cyclists participating in the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Ride will be making their way through our community on their journey from Toronto to Niagara, raising funds for life-saving cancer research.

Riders are expected to travel through parts of Rockwood Village, including Bloor St. W., Ponytrail Dr., Rathburn Rd. E., Fieldgate Dr., and Eastgate Pkwy. between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with some lane closures in effect earlier in the morning.

If you're out and about, please drive carefully, expect delays, and give these incredible riders a wave as they pass through our neighbourhood. 👋

Such an exciting day in Mississauga as we celebrate the reopening of this incredible community space alongside Councillor Chris Fonseca! 🙌

This park has had a major glow-up — and it truly has something for everyone:

💦 A brand new splash pad just in time for summer fun
🚴 A bike park/pump track for kids (and adults!) to ride and explore
🛝 Updated playground areas for all ages
🌳 Beautiful green space to relax, connect, and enjoy the outdoors

📊 May 2026 GTA Real Estate Market Update

Spring has arrived and the GTA housing market is showing renewed momentum.

🏡 6,583 homes sold in May
⬆️ Sales increased 6.3% compared to May 2025

📉 New listings declined 13.3%
As buyers continue to absorb available inventory, the market is gradually moving back toward balance.

💰 Average GTA home price: $1,069,700
While prices remain 4.6% lower than last year, they edged upward compared to April, a potential sign that prices are beginning to stabilize.

📈 Compared to April:
✔️ Home sales increased by 10%
✔️ New listings declined slightly

Improved affordability, lower borrowing costs, and increased buyer confidence are helping bring more purchasers back into the market.

🏢 The condo market continues to face price pressure due to increased supply from new unit completions, but condo sales rose nearly 8% year-over-year, showing that buyers are recognizing opportunities in today's market.

🔑 What this means for you:
• Buyers still have plenty of choice and negotiating power.
• Sellers may benefit from improving demand and declining inventory as the year progresses.

The second half of 2026 could bring further market strengthening if interest rates continue to ease and economic conditions remain stable.

🚧 Rockwood Village Neighbours — just a heads up! 🚧

Peel Region has officially started the watermain replacement project on portions of Claypine Rise (south of Bough Beeches Blvd) and Audubon Blvd as part of the larger infrastructure upgrade happening throughout the community.

Affected streets in the Rockwood Village project include:
• Audubon Blvd
• Claypine Rise

What residents can expect:
🔹 Temporary traffic disruptions
🔹 Possible driveway/sidewalk impacts
🔹 Water shutoff notices from time to time
🔹 Construction crews and equipment in the area

Peel Region is replacing aging underground watermains to help maintain reliable water service as the community continues to grow. Not glamorous work… but necessary work. The kind nobody notices until pipes start acting like they’re from 1978. 😅

If you’re planning major driveway work or landscaping this year, Peel is recommending residents wait until construction in your area is completed.
