I know it doesn't feel cold enough just yet, but fall and Thanksgiving always put me in the mood for a warm glass of mulled wine.

It smells like heaven, and is so easy to make.... I serve it right out of the Crock-Pot lol... and of course the desi girl in me adds teabags 😜

🍷M U L L E D  W I N E🍷

1 Bottle (750 ml) cheap red wine (I prefer Cabernet Sauvignon
3 cups of apple cider 
4 tbsp maple syrup
Zest of 1 orange
1 orange peeled and sliced (do this after zesting it)
5 whole cloves
5 whole cardamoms
2 star anise
2 large cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup fortified wine/brandy/cognac/sherry (depending on how strong you want it, and what you have on hand lol)
** and my secret ingredient: 1 chai flavoured tea bag**

🍷Add all ingredients (except fortified wine/brandy) to a slow cooker on low heat. 

🍷After 1 hour, add fortified wine, and leave on low heat for another hour. Remove the tea bag.

🍷Strain into cups and enjoy. Cheers!
