Starting April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, the Ontario government, in partnership with the federal government, will offer a full HST rebate (up to $130,000) on new homes valued up to $1 million, expanding eligibility to all buyers, including investors and repeat buyers. Key Details of the Expanded HST Rebate (2026-2027): Maximum Benefit: A maximum of $130,000 in provincial rebate, matching the federal rebate, potentially eliminating the full 13% HST on homes up to $1 million. Price Tiers: Up to $1 Million: Full provincial rebate on the 13% HST (max $130,000). $1 Million to $1.5 Million: Flat maximum rebate of $130,000. $1.5 Million to $1.85 Million: Proportional, declining rebate. Over $1.85 Million: Continues the current $24,000 provincial rebate. Eligibility & Timing: The rebate applies to new homes purchased as a primary residence or a rental property. The purchase agreement must be signed between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027.
