In March 2009 Linda founded the Condo Owners Association - COA Ontario http://www.COAontario.com (non profit Association) because she believed that condo owners and buyers needed representation and a united voice to ensure proper governance, accountability and long term sustainability in condominiums. The key is that COA will help all home owners not just condominiums because condominiums play a huge role in real estate and if the condo market is not protected neither is any other form of real estate, ie. detach, semi-detach homes, investment or commercial properties. Board of Directors controlling decisions in condominium buildings need to be accountable and the overall operations of condos needs protection to keep maintenance fees low and ensure values increase not decrease to protect owners equity. Ontario is moving ahead with a new Buy Ontario Act that will force the province’s $30-billion annual procurement budget to prioritize Ontario-made goods and services first, with Canadian-made options second. The legislation, set to be tabled Thursday, applies across ministries, public agencies, municipalities, contractors and subcontractors, with fines for those who break the rules.

The move comes as the province responds to economic pressure from ongoing U.S. tariffs and aims to keep spending — and jobs — inside Ontario. The government says the act will steer domestic materials like Ontario lumber, steel and vehicles into major infrastructure builds, from highways and transit to schools and hospitals. Exceptions can be made only when local options can’t meet cost or timeline requirements.

The bill also includes Highway Traffic Act tweaks to enforce new signage rules replacing decommissioned speed cameras, plus a one-year extension of certain condo owner protections.
