We are a tight knit family whose individual team members genuinely care about the people in their communities. We love spending time with our families, having fun, enjoying life and giving back. We maintain a positive mindset and we are excited for what the future has in store. Jeff LeBlanc become a Certified Home Inspector in 2014 after the passing of his close friend and home inspector, Dan Pluim. Jeff would attend the inspection in order to learn valuable information to improve his knowledge of local homes. What started out as a business relationship grew into a true friendship. Jeff had recently left the real estate industry when Dan become sick. Jeff started taking his courses and was partially through his studies when Dan lost his battle with cancer on June 10, 2014. Jeff completed his studies and opened his company, Jeff LeBlanc Home Inspection Services in July 2014. The company logo was designed at that time with Dan at the center and Dan’s company, Cottage to Castle as the back ground images. Jeff had a very successful first year performing over 400 inspections. The company expanded with Doug MacDonald joining as a partner in August 2015. Jeff & Doug have been continuing to assist Realtors, buyers and sellers with their home inspection needs. The team has co tinier to grow over the last 6 years to now include 8 certified inspectors covering Moncton and Fredericton. We are expanding throughout New Brunswick and are searching out additional inspectors with trades background to expand our service throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond. Cottage to Castle includes an operational team as well as a growth team to help support our clients and inspectors so we are able to deliver the amazing customer service that our clients and referring partners expect. With the permission of Dan’s widow, Kim. Jeff LeBlanc Home Inspection Services became Cottage to Castle Home Inspection Services on June 10, 2016. Thank you Dan and Kim, You are with me every day on my hat and chest! Cottage to Castle is a customer service company first, we understand the home purchasing process can be stressful. We intend to make the home inspection process as simple as possible for you. Once you call and make an appointment, the inspection details are entered into our system and you will receive a confirmation email with the details of the inspection and a link to our online contract. You can sign our agreement electronically and it is saved into our file automatically. We will also notify all Realtors in the transaction in order to schedule the inspection with the sellers. We will spend between 2-4 hours at the house completing our inspection and report (house dependant). If you are available, we will meet with you at the house once our inspection is complete to go over the report and tour the house explaining our findings and answering your questions. This meeting usually takes about 1 hour. If you are not able to be present, our reports contain a lot of pictures and we are available to discuss the results over the phone. The Cottage to Castle Home Inspection Report is a detailed report full of comments on deficiencies, safety issues and general maintenance tips. We will generate a pdf report on site which will be uploaded to you at the end of our inspection. The report includes many photos in conjunction with our comments. Your report will be send to you via email normally from the house or by the end of day at the latest. We will send your paid receipt via email when completed. We accept many types of payments, Interac email transfers and we have an online payment portal for contactless payment for convenience. Cottage to Castle is proud to be an affiliate member of Greater Moncton Realtors® du Grand Moncton and the Fredericton board. As an affiliate member we have access to the lockboxes and we acquire permission from the home owner to access their property, making scheduling hassle free. Cottage to Castle Inspectors are fully insured with Error and Omissions Insurance as well as General Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation NB Insurance.

Cottage to Castle Home Inspection Services
One year ago today I closed a chapter in my life, my home inspection phase has been over for a year. It’s hard to believe it has only been one year. So much has happened in the last 12 months. It feels like 5 years! That story is for this next chapter and another post.

First and most importantly I want to thank all of C2C’s past clients. We had an AMAZING 8.5 years serving all 8500 of you!!!
I wanted to share our final report card here. I am very proud of all that our C2C family has accomplished in the short time we were together.

I want to pass along a special thank you to Kim Pluim for allowing me to carry on from Dan’s First chapter of Cottage to Castle. I feel good about the job I did and I know my buddy Dan is proud of the work we have done. I never thought I would take off that logo with Dan front and centre.
I am proud of what Cottage to Castle® did for the home inspection industry in our local markets. We raised the bar and we left it in better shape than when I found it in 2014.
I am proud to have carried on with Dan’s company name in what was the 2nd chapter of Cottage to Castle.
I am confident that you will hear the name Cottage to Castle® again…..you never know when a chapter 3 will happen.

I have some very sad and frustrating news to share with you today.
As of September 22nd, 2022, Cottage to Castle will no longer perform residential home inspections for buyers of real estate in New Brunswick.
I never thought I would say those words. Not in a million years but this is where we find ourselves.
Cottage to Castle inspectors have performed approximately 8,500 inspections since 2014. That means that we have helped close to 8,000 clients with their home purchase decision. I am proud to say that Cottage to Castle made a huge impact on the inspection industry in our area; providing improved customer service experience, working with all parties of the transaction in a helpful manner, top-notch communication, providing information-packed training sessions for local Realtors and creating one of the most detailed home inspection reports available. We are one of the largest home inspection companies in Canada and one of the most third-party reviewed home inspection companies in Canada as well.
So, why are we no longer able to perform home inspections? Insurance.
That is a one-word answer that deserves a much more detailed explanation, and I will share what I can with you.
There are very few insurance providers in Canada for our industry. I have only found one.
While speaking to my broker this Spring, I was informed that the insurer had made changes to their operations as it relates to home inspectors and that if they had paid out more than 15% of premiums collected in the last 5 years that they will not offer insurance renewals.
I was taken aback by the words that I heard. I had no idea that this was even a possibility. Unfortunately, no alternative policy is available.
Based on the non-renewal of our insurance, I must “retire” from the home inspection industry so that I can maintain insurance coverage for the work that we have done in the past.
I know you are concerned for our employees, as are we. I am very fortunate to have diversified over the years and we are repurposing as many of our employees as possible into our Radon Repair company, however, we are unable to continue to employ all of our existing employees. We thank everyone who has worked at Cottage to Castle now and in the last 8 years for all of their hard work and efforts.
We want to thank every one of our realtor friends and our past clients for all their support over the years. You are the reason that we do what we do every day and that will not change moving forward. Thank you. We look forward to helping you in other areas in the near future.
