🌧️ Should you get a home inspection in the rain?

YES!

Rain can reveal problems that may stay completely hidden on a dry day. During this inspection, I observed water overshooting the gutters and active water leakage near the basement entrance stairs/cold room—conditions that might not have been visible without the rainfall.

A rainy inspection can reveal how the home actually manages water when it matters most. 🏠🔍

🏠 NEW HOME DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN NO PROBLEMS! 🔍

During an inspection of this 2022-built home, I checked the attic and found only about 2–3 inches of insulation, far below the expected depth for a properly insulated attic.

This is exactly why you should never skip a home inspection just because the house is newer. Construction deficiencies, missing materials, and installation issues can still be present—and many of them are where you wouldn’t normally look.

✅ New build? Get it inspected.
✅ Recently renovated? Get it inspected.
